On your phone
The TVs you add, the keys they pair with and your settings stay on your phone. They're left out of Android's backups, and uninstalling TennaRC deletes them.
Your TV and your home network
TennaRC finds TVs on your Wi-Fi and talks to them directly, without going through any server. When you play a photo, video or song from your phone on the TV, the phone hands only that file to the TV, over your home network.
Services on the internet
Each of these sees your IP address, as any website does, and handles it under its own privacy policy.
- Search films and videos. Off until you say yes, which TennaRC asks the first time you search. While it's on, what you type in search goes to YouTube, JustWatch and Wikidata, and JustWatch also gets your country to know what streams there. Result pictures come from YouTube and JustWatch.
- App icons. TennaRC fetches each TV app's Google Play page, and its website's icon through Google's icon service. The requests name the app or the website, nothing about you.
- Web search. A web search opens in your TV's browser, at the search engine you picked. The TV sends it, not the phone.
- Voice search. Speaking a search uses your phone's speech recognition service, usually Google's. TennaRC uses the microphone only while you're speaking a search.
Problem reports
From the form here: what you write, and the TV model, TennaRC version and email address if you give them.
From the app, only after you tap Send on its crash notice: the error, TennaRC's version, your Android version and phone model, the kind of TV and whether it was connected. TV names, addresses and links are left out.
Reports go to [email protected]. The server holds your IP address for ten minutes to stop spam and doesn't log it.
This site
Cloudflare carries this site's traffic, so it sees your IP address and the pages you open, under its own privacy policy. The site itself sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from other sites.
